VP DR JAMES WANI IGGA VISITS WOUNDED LOBONOK CHIEF AT JUBA HOSPITAL/COURTESY

Vice President Dr. James Wani Igga on Wednesday paid a visit to the head chief of Lobonok Payam who was shot and wounded reportedly by an SSPDF soldier on Tuesday.

An SSPDF soldier said to be stationed at Pager Hills of Luwala Boma in Lo’bonok since 2020 reportedly went to Chief Matayo Kenyi Jale at his home several on Tuesday.

Each time he went to the chief’s house, he demanded money, alcohol, and food.

Lastly, when he returned at around 7: 00 p.m., he was told there was no food- as such he opened fire, hitting the paramount chief in the chest.

The wounded traditional leader was promptly evacuated to Juba Tuesday evening where he underwent surgery at the Freedom International Hospital.

In a social media report, the VP assured that the government and the military Headquarters will take serious measures to bring the culprit to justice.
