Authorities in Maban County in Upper Nile State have called upon people who fled the area to return back to their homes.

Maban County says calm has returned to Jamam after recent attack by the SPLA in Opposition forces.

Commissioner Timothy Mounte says although the recent attack created panic amongst civilians, the area is now under government control.

“My message is that I want to gather my citizens who are affected by the recent attack, from the areas they fled to, to their county. And more than that, I want the government to support me with food aid to the people who fled to the bush. Some of them were in Adar, and I brought them here to the headquarters of Maban County. He urged.

Mounte urged humanitarian organizations to support them with lifesaving assistance.
