Authorities in Western Equatoria State say residents of Mundri East County have fled their homes after unknown gunmen attacked residents and looted their property last week.

The Chairperson of the SPLM caucus, Margret Fozia says two people were also killed in the attack on Friday night.

She says the local people have been fleeing the area in the last three days.

“The people have stopped cultivating for the last three days, their livelihood is at stake, shops were looted, people were beaten; the executive officer of the payam was beaten in the presence of the army.”

“The county caucus of Mundri East met the Deputy Governor yesterday to discuss the issue.”
