Unexpected SPLA-IO logistical hitches

The SPLM in Opposition says its first batch of security forces failed to come to Juba over the weekend due to logistical issues.

No new date has been fixed for their arrival.

Last week, the advance team in Juba said the forces would arrive in Juba within two days.

The forces are required in the capital for the preparation of the arrival of the first vice president, Dr Riek Machar.

The spokesperson of Dr Riek Machar, James Gatdet says the forces will come to Juba once shelter and food are provided by the government and the JMEC.

“We can’t just bring them in when we don’t know where they are going to sleep and what they are going to eat,” Mr Gatdet told Eye Radio.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the advance team in Juba, William Ezekiel, says they are working with donors on the logistical issues.
