The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Communication Authority, Tejwok Simon Ajak, who says the country is committed to building a modern digital system that can connect services within South Sudan and across the region.
He made the remarks during the Digital Public Infrastructure Forum held in Tallinn, Estonia, where East African and European officials met to discuss cooperation on digital systems.
Ajak said South Sudan wants to develop strong and secure digital infrastructure that allows government services to work more efficiently, supports trade, and creates opportunities for young people.
The discussions focused on areas such as digital trade, online identification systems, health data sharing, cybersecurity, and the safe exchange of information between countries.
He stressed that South Sudan does not want separate, isolated systems that cannot connect with others later, but instead wants systems that can grow and work across borders.
“South Sudan does not want isolated systems that later become difficult to integrate,” he said, stressing the need for scalable and interoperable solutions.
The forum also shared lessons from Estonia, a country widely recognized for successfully running most government services digitally.
