The UN Mission in South Sudan says it has started relocation of more than 4,000 IDPs from its site in Thongpiny, Juba.

UNMISS Principle Public Information Officer Yasmin Bouziane says the IDPs are being moved to the Jebel site so that humanitarian services are rendered at one point.

“The Thongpiny area is not a POC site. It’s a transit site and we’re working with the humanitarian partners and agencies funding [the] program,” Ms Bouziane said.

She said about 500 of the IDPs have already been transported to the Jebel site. There are about 35,000 IDPS at the UNMISS camp in Jebel.
