The Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) says it has dispatched a second consignment of food assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs) camps in Juba.

The food distribution exercise, carried out on Tuesday afternoon, targeted Protection of Civilians (POC) sites 1, 2, and 3, where thousands of displaced people continue to seek shelter.

According to the RRC, the consignment consisted of wheat intended to support IDPs, returnees, and other vulnerable groups affected by the humanitarian situation in the country.

In a statement issued yesterday, the Chairperson of the Camp Management Committee, Makul Gatluak, thanked the RRC for the support and appreciated the commission’s continued assistance to displaced communities.

Meanwhile, the National Chairperson of the RRC, Hon. Stephen K. Gach, said the available food supplies would be shared equally among those in need.

The government says the initiative reflects its commitment to addressing the challenges facing internally displaced persons and vulnerable communities across the country.
