Presidents of Sudan, South Sudan meet and discuss the way forward.

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and his delegation arrived in Juba this morning.

Eye Radio’s reporter at the State house says that talks are now going on – on three fronts; at the Presidency level and among various ministers and delegations of the two countries.

“The cooperation agreement of course has nine very important components; things to do with security, things to do with trade and inter-trade issues and inter-borders issues, things to do with banking and nationals of the two countries, things to do with general cooperation,” the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Doctor Martin Elia Lomoro told the press at Juba international Airport this morning.

Sudanese Ambassador to South Sudan, Doctor Mothirib Siddeg said that the two Presidents will discuss political and economic issues between two countries.

“This visit will never miss out on any single point that needs to be discussed. There are many agreements; some of them were implemented and some are still to be discussed and implemented. It it is a chance for issues which (have not been) discussed to be discussed. ”

Abyei is definitely on the agenda, according to Doctor Martin Elia Lomoro who said that the Sudanese President’s visit will likely resolve the stalemate on the referendum.

“Abyei of course is included, and am sure that two presidents will have some time to talk about it, and we hope with this momentums, with this confidents that we have now built over the last few months we will have cooperation agreement completed and fulfilled in time for us to continue and have a normal life between two countries,” he said.

Finally, a trade agreement is expected to be signed today between the two countries; it will include free trade, transit, utilization of ports and simplifying the process of imports and exports among others.
