Police are investigating the killing of two young men in Ikwoto County on Sunday, according to Eastern Equatoria state Minister of Local Government.
Minister Peter Lokeng said the incident took place in the Kidepo Valley along the Ikwoto -Ramula road on Sunday.
He said he was yet to establish the identities of the victims and the motive behind their killing as the perpetrators are unknown.
Minister Lokeng added that the security personnel have been facing difficulties in tracking the culprits as the area has limited communication network.
“The tracing of the footprints left by the criminals who committed this act is challenging. In the area, the absence of network connectivity complicates our efforts to trace them. It becomes even more difficult to locate them without access to a network.
Lokeng told Eye Radio that despite the obstacles, efforts to apprehend those responsible for the killing are ongoing.
‘The police are currently present in where the incident occurred, actively investigating the situation.”
