Forces will be deployed on the border between Gogrial East and West Counties, according to Warrap information minister.

Revenge fighting between communities in the two areas has been going on for almost a week now. An elopement triggered the clashes.

Paul Dhel says the state Governor, Nyandeng Malek, is due to visit the area this afternoon to assess the situation.

“She will go to Gogrial with forces to be deployed along the border,” Mr Dhel said.

He says several people have been killed and injured in the clashes but the actual number is not clear.

“But from today the team will be in the ground to find out the number of the casualties from the both sides and will make the public aware,” he added.

Mr. Dhel urged the people of Warrap state to work together to bring peace among the communities.
