Norwegian Special Envoy to Sudan and South Sudan has called on both the government and the SPLM in Opposition to form a transitional government next month.

The government of national unity should be formed within 90 days after signing the agreement in August, according to the peace agreement.

Jens Petter Kjemprud told Eye Radio that there is no any other way to bring peace than to implement the agreement.

“There is no alternative route than for the parties to utilize what has been agreed in the peace agreement to take South Sudan forward,” Mr Kjemprud said.

“As the religious leaders [have] said, there is no way back to war; it is a disaster for South Sudan”.

The Norwegian envoy is in Juba with his two colleagues from the United States and United Kingdom to follow up on the implementation of the agreement.
