The governor of Eastern Equatoria has issued an executive order for formation of a committee to register and distribute assets between the two states formed last week.

The state has been split into two: Imatong and Namorunyang. Louis Lobong Lojore issued the order in the state capital, Torit, on Tuesday.

The order mandates a board of seven members to identify and register all assets owned by the state government.

It will also propose an equitable distribution of the assets and human resources.

The executive order also proposes division of the current state budget amongst the newly created states and the division of manpower to the newly created states.

It says the committee will facilitate a smooth transition into the newly created states.

Members of the committee were drawn from different state institutions and departments, including the state assembly, national security and the executive.
