The national Ministry of Housing and Physical Planning said it does not have effective land and infrastructure policies.

The deputy Minister said many residential buildings and hotels are coming up in Juba without being regulated.

Deng Arop Kuol said this has limited the ability to standardize development and building of industries in Juba city.

“There is no way you can go ahead especially with the construction of industries without policies in place, without laws regulating….,” said Mr Kuol.

“Right now – the construction that is ongoing – people are still relying on the old laws that we used when we were still one Country,” he added.

Honorable Kuol said the Ministry has drafted two policy documents, the land, and housing policies that will be summited to the national Assembly.

He said the law will improve roads and houses that have been built without arrangements.
