President Salva Kiir has sworn in the newly appointed Ministers of the SPLM representing the Opposition in the Transitional Government in National Unity.

This came a day after the president issued a Republican decree reshuffling the opposition Ministers.

The ministers took oath of office in Juba on the 3rd August.

“People should come together as before, we must stay together and preach peace. The simple citizen will not start to do anything without you intellectuals go and talk to them,” said president Kiir while addressing the ministers, urging them to use their offices to preach peace and reconciliation in the country.

The ceremony was attended by the two deputy presidents, Taban Deng Gai and James Wani Igga.
