The SPLM political bureau met today and resolved that President Salva Kiir will travel to Tanzania in the next few days to meet Dr Riek Machar to discuss the full implementation of the Arusha Agreement.

Deputy Secretary General, Dr Ann Itto, says the two leaders will talk about the return of Dr Riek to Juba.

This comes days after the party reinstated former political detainee, Pagan Amum, into his position as the Secretary General.

Dr Itto says the meeting will review the implementation of the agreement.

“Five heads of state will be meeting in Arusha to talk to Riak about why he has not joined the Implementation of Arusha; why he has not come back to Juba,” she said.

Dr. Ann also said the SPLM Political Bureau agreed to invite state governors plus SPLM chairpersons to Juba to brief them on the progress of the Arusha Agreement.
