Kiir reshuffles Jonglei State cabinet, legislature

President Salva Kiir relieved and replaced seven officials in the Jonglei State government while revoking the names of eight MPs from the state legislature on Wednesday.

In a Republican Decree read on SSBC, Kiir sacked Elizabeth Nyadak John, the state Minister of Information and government spokesperson, and appointed Marlin David Kuony Jany in her place.

Ms. Marlin is the wife of the current SSPDF Spokesperson, Gen Lul Ruai Koang.

Kiir also removed Atong Kuol from her position as Jonglei State Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries.

Atong, who previously served as the state Minister of Health, is the daughter of General Kuol Manyang, a Senior Advisor to President Kiir and senior member of SPLM party.
