Kiir appoints new party Advisers, Secretaries & Deputy Secretaries

The chairman of the SPLM, President Salva Kiir has appointed advisers, secretaries and deputy secretaries to the SPLM secretariat, which was dissolved last month.

At a meeting in Juba, the National Liberation Council declared the positions in the secretariat and mandated the chairman to appoint their replacements.

The decree appointing the new party officials follows the appointment of Jema Nunu Kumba as the SPLM deputy secretary general, replacing Dr Ann Itto.

The advisers include; Mangar Marial Amerdit for political affairs and mobilization, John Dabi for administration and organizations, Achuil Malith Banggol for syndicated and popular Organizations, Lual Deng Achuek for research, Training and Planning, and Marial Awuou for Finance and Economy.

The secretaries include; Antipas Nyok for political affairs and mobilization, Adhieu Martian Manyiel for administration and organizations, Anthony Joseph for syndicated and popular Organizations.

Others include; Bol Makueng Yol for Culture, Information and Telecommunications, Dr Henry Wani for Research, Training and Planning, Charles Abdu for Finance and Economy, Angui Deng for External affairs and Nifana John Bol for Social affairs.

The chairman also appointed deputy secretaries.

The former secretary for external affairs, Suzan Jambo is one of the officials who have been replaced. She has welcomed the changes.

But at the time of the dissolution of the secretariat, concerns were raised about the fate of the Arusha Agreement to unite the party, but SPLM officials said it would not be affected.
