A member of parliament and civil society activists from Kajo-Keji County, Central Equatoria State, are concerned about the insecurity on the road to Juba.

Five people were killed along the road on Monday. Gunmen asked passengers out of three passenger cars and shot five of them dead. Their bodies were brought to the Juba Teaching Hospital.

Hon Jacob Kweyansuk, who represents the county in the national assembly, spoke at the mortuary this morning.

“Most people travelling from Juba –Kajo-Keji, Yei-Juba are always ambushed on the way, and always ending up being killed,” Hon Kweyansuk stated.

The lawmaker also urged the state and the national governments to arrest the culprits and bring them to the justice.

The Executive Director for Foundation for Democracy and Accountable Governance, Jame David, hails from Kajo-Keji. He said such insecurity along the road has continued for too long.

“We the people of Kajo-Keji are very tired of whatever is going on and it is high time that something really needs to done,” Mr David said.

Recently, four people lost lives to a similar attack.
