Three elders who were detained over a land dispute in Kajo-keji County in Central Equatoria State have been released.

Mr Stephen Waka, aged 85, Mr Elisoma Wani 72 and Mrs Alisi, 70 were sentenced to two years in prison by a paramount chief for refusing to sell a piece of land to an investor.

They were wrongly given the sentence, said Mono James, their defense lawyer.

The elders have now asked the businessman to relocate from the area.
