The Ministry of Interior and Juba City Council authorities agreed to establish a joint mechanism to combat hooliganism in the national capital.
Minister Angelina Teny and City Mayor Flora Gabriel met in Juba on Wednesday, October 25, to discuss the security situation within the town
In her remark, the Mayor says her administration is facing many issues including insecurity and security caused by the gang groups known as the Toronto Boys.
“We discussed the security situation in Juba City and together we are going to work on many issues concerning security such as Toronto boys and youth gangs and other problems in the city,” said Mayor Flora.
For her part, The National Minister of Interior Angelina Teny says Wednesday’s meeting was the beginning of work in securing the country
She emphasized the need for partnership and cooperation among the institutions to provide an atmosphere of safety and security for the citizens in the city of Juba
“It is a very important meeting and it is the beginning of work in securing the country. We will begin in the city of Juba,” said Angelina.
“In the past few days, we have been visiting the institutions related to the Ministry of Interior in order to know the partners with whom we will work to provide an atmosphere of safety and security for the citizens in the city of Juba,” she said.
“For citizens to practice life activity, we need partnership and cooperation, not only from the Ministry of Interior, but we need to work together.”
