Business people and those on official government missions will find it easier to organize their trips due to an amendment of the Passport and Immigration act.

New rules have been passed, allowing more people access to the business and diplomatic passports.

The move is to deter abuse of passports in the government, and also to introduce larger passports for business people who make a lot of trips abroad.

“The business passport is actually ordinary passport with more pages. More pages because business men travel a lot. So the size is different,” Hon. MP Mayiik Ayii Deng told Eye Radio.

The new passport brings to five the categories of travel documents in South Sudan.

South Sudan only had diplomatic passport, ordinary passport and special passport, and emergency travel documents.
