IDPs in Yambio receive non food assisitance

The South Sudan Red Cross Society is distributing non-food items to the Internally Displaced Persons in Yambio, Western Equatoria state.

The IDPs fled violence in Mundri West and Maridi counties in June. Recently, the IDPs appeaaled for more non-food items to improve their hygiene and sanitation amid a Cholera outbreak in Juba and Bor.

The Yambio Branch Director, Alison Martin says the general distribution is targeting more than 2000 individuals.

But today, Mr. Martin says they want to give items to 1000 IDPs in the distribution.

He said: “So the items we’re distributing is just non-food items that is blankets, tabulin that is mashama, bucket for water, and also another one for drinking water, soap for washing and then hygiene kits and then carpets or sleeping marts.”
