Greater Pibor lacks qualified civil servants

Author : | Published: Monday, June 1, 2015

Last year, General David Yau Yau, the leader of the Cobra-Faction, signed a peace agreement with the government.

This ended three- years of conflict. The president offered amnesty to General Yau Yau, allowing for creation of the greater Pibor Administrative area.

However, the new administrative area is faced with a number of challenges.

President Kiir’s special envoy to Greater Pibor, Akot Lual, says one of the outstanding challenges is lack of qualified civil servants amongst the Murle Community.

He spoke during an occasion to mark one year after the signing of the Greater Pibor Area Peace Agreement.
