The government has directed all its institutions to comply with the resolution of the UN Security Council for the deployment of a regional protection force in Juba.

Last month, a UN Security Council delegation visited Juba and agreed with the government on the deployment of 4000 strong force to protect civilian and the key institutions.

The Council of Ministers on Saturday resolved to implement all the provisions of the joint communiqué which it signed jointly with UN delegation.

The Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr Martin Elia Lomoro, says the council has directed and ordered for implementation of all the proposals and arrangements for the regional protection force to come to South Sudan.

“We also directed and ordered implementation of all the proposals and the arrangements have been made for the regional protection force to come to the Republic of South Sudan,” Dr Lomoro told the media.

The issues include deployments and security arrangements for Juba, protection of civilian and Juba International Airport and other key installations.
