The Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area has called for stronger coordination between development partners and local authorities during a visit by a delegation from the World Bank and the International Organization for Migration to Pibor Town on Monday.
The delegation held discussions with Chief Administrator Gola Boyoi Gola on future partnership and development programs planned for the Greater Pibor Administrative Area.
During the meeting, Gola Boyoi urged partners to align all new interventions with the GPAA Integrated Three-Year Development Master Plan for 2026 to 2028.
He said proper coordination would help avoid duplication and ensure projects bring meaningful impact on communities.
The Chief Administrator also highlighted progress made in climate resilience programs, saying the initiatives have strengthened the ability of communities to respond to disasters caused by climate change.
The head of the World Bank delegation, Lukas McCue, said more programs are expected to be introduced as the second phase of the Enhanced Community Resilience Project nears completion.
The two sides agreed to organize a technical follow-up meeting before the implementation of the proposed projects by the World Bank, IOM, and other development partners.
Gola Boyoi also raised key community priorities, including the urgent need for a secondary school for more than six hundred primary school graduates every year, and the construction of a bridge linking Pibor Town to Lukurnyang and other parts of the administrative area.
The delegation also inspected ongoing projects, including the construction of dykes near Pibor main market, Pibor Girls Primary School, and the rehabilitation of the Pibor airstrip.
