Four men arrested, confess killing 35-year-old man in Aweil

Police in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state on Tuesday arrested a group of four men who allegedly participated in the killing of a 35-year-old man in Aweil.

Dut Ruoch Chieny, who lived at Maper Tit – Agok locality in Aweil town was stabbed to death on Monday night.

Captain Guot Akol told Eye Radio four suspects have been apprehended in connection with the killing.

They are aged between 19 and 22.

Guot Akol says the individuals confessed to the crime before the police and have been charged with murder.

“We managed to apprehend all four suspects, they confessed their crimes, and they brought a knife that they used to kill the man,” said Capt. Akol.

The motive of the killing is unclear, but the police says they are investigating the matter.

“The investigation is going on and hopefully by next week, they will be taken to court. They confess that they were only four, and all of them were apprehended.”
