A curfew was imposed last night in Yambio town, where two women were shot dead on Sunday.

The Western Equatoria State Minister of Information, Charles Kisanga says the elderly and the secondary school girl were killed in Timbiro residential area.

A similar incident happened on Friday, when a man and his wife were shot dead and burnt in their house in the town.

Mr Kisanga says the curfew was to reduce random killings in the town.

“A joint patrol by the organized forces” was conducted within the time of the curfew that was effective between 10pm and 6am, Charles Kisanga told Eye Radio.

The motive of the attacks leading to the curfew was not clear.

Mr Kisanga said no suspect was arrested by last evening in connection with the killings.
