Children in three states most hit by the South Sudan conflict are being vaccinated against two killer diseases.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says an integrated measles, polio and Vitamin A campaign is underway in Unity, Jonglei and Upper Nile States.

In its weekly situation report, UNOCHA says more than 23,500 children have been vaccinated against polio in and around Malakal, the capital of Upper Nile State.

It adds that another 23,570 children have also been vaccinated against measles in Malakal.

The report says that in the Jonglei State capital Bor, more than 10,400 children were vaccinated against polio and more than 9,300 others were vaccinated against measles.

OCHA says the campaign will continue until the end of the year.
