The mayor of Bor, Jonglei state, says people have received food and non-food items from NGOs and the office of the First Lady.

The recipients are some of the civilians who just returned to the area after spending months in neighboring Lakes state after the violence erupted.

Bor Mayor Nhial Majak told Eye radio that the donations include milk and sugar, among other items.

“We have received some important assistance from the office of the First Lady. They have delivered two trucks that had food items and non-food items; they were distributed to IDPs and returnees that were coming back to the town. So, that was much appreciated. And also LWF, the Lutheran World Federation, also sent some non-food items that are not yet properly probably distributed” the mayor said.
