Awut welcomes Kiir’s directive for free primary education

The Minister of General Education and Instruction has welcomed President Salva Kiir directive for the enforcement of free primary and secondary education across the country.

On Monday, President Salva Kiir directed the state and national governments to comply with the constitution and enforce the free education policy.

Minister Awut commended the President’s decision to make basic and secondary education free in public schools.

She said this is in line with the provisions of the constitution, which stipulate compulsory and free education for all.

Awut made the remarks during the launch of laboratories at the Maridi Girls Secondary School, a boarding school in Maridi County on Tuesday.
