A consultative workshop has kicked off today for the construction of 247 kilometers road from Juba to Kaya.

The road which will cost 514 million US dollars will be the second highway that connects South Sudan to Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Minister of Physical Infrastructure in Central Equatoria State, Jimmy Wongo says the road is going to reduce the challenges of transportation of goods from the neighboring countries.

“You know that a road like this one will bring development, not to the Government but to the people themselves along whose homes that road will go through.” Wongo said.

The road will be constructed in three years.
