Police have killed six people, suspected of abducting children in Eastern Equatoria State.

Police were called when a group of armed men started trying to abduct children yesterday in Ohiri village.

The men got away, but police chased them, and eventually killed them in an ambush.

“They attempted to abduct the children but the children ran. When the children ran into the village, the youth followed their footmarks until they got them and exchanged fire. They managed to kill 6 suspects,” the state minister of Public Administration and Internal Affairs, Claudio Suleiman, told Eye Radio.

This is the second incident of child abduction in EES.

Last week, authorities in Eastern Equatoria State reported two incidents of child abduction in the State.
