Animal health officials in Koch County, Unity state, are warning of an outbreak of a new disease that can kill cattle in two days.

Director of Animal Resources and Fisheries John Kot Kuol said the disease affects the skin of cattle, causing their hair to fall out.

Mister Kot says the disease can be transmitted through bodily contact between an infected animal and a healthy one.

He said his office has registered 8 cases of the new disease in the county.

Drugs are available which cure the disease if it’s caught quickly enough.
