Authorities in Northern Bahr el Ghazal have stopped all political activities in the state until President Salva Kiir completes the formation of his new national cabinet.

The Minister of Information in the Northern Bahr el Ghazal state, Nyebol Ajonga told Eye Radio that the decision to stop political activity was not an order.

“In the state we are not going to have any political activities because there is a political situation in the country that needs people to stop politicizing the issues until the President completes the formation of a new government in Juba,” he said.  “This is a decision not an order. The governor was appealing to the public to stop politicizing the process of the new cabinet and follow the programs laid forth by the President.’’

Last week, President Salva Kiir briefed all governors on the current political situation and suggested that the state governors think of reducing the governments as well.
