Fuel shortage hits Juba

Author : | Published: Friday, August 7, 2015

Residents of Juba are saying fuel shortage is affecting their businesses. For the last one week, there have been long queues at a few petrol stations that are operating.

This has also affected public transport in the town. Eye Radio spoke to some people at petrol stations this morning.

“I came early in the morning. Since then, I’m just here waiting for fuel,” said a motorist.

“That affects my business and customers have been calling me seriously. I just give them an excuse that I have no fuel.”

The Manager of Trinity Petrol Station, Mohamed Abdi, says the shortage is caused by lack of hard currency to import fuel.

“If hard currency [problem is solved], all things will change,” Mr Abdi added.
