Former Jubek State speaker Peter Kenyi passes on

The former speaker of the defunct Jubek State Legislative Assembly Peter Kenyi Tombe died on Sunday morning after a short illness, the family has confirmed.

His brother, Richard Wani said the former lawmaker passed away at 9: AM in Hai Mauna Hospital this morning due to hypertension.

“It was an accident that happened last night. The late was going to the toilet then he fell. So we rushed him to Mauna Hospital and just this morning at 9:AM, he passed away,” he told Eye Radio.

Honorable Tombe was a veteran local government officer in Khartoum for 20 years before South Sudan gained independence.

Before his appointment as the Speaker of the former Jubek State from 2016 to 2020, he worked with the Juba City Council.
