A 24-year-old mother has died days after giving birth to triplets through a surgical operation at a hospital in the capital Juba.

Late Nyankiir Manyok Deng was in labor pain when she was admitted first to Giada military hospital Wednesday last week where she underwent a cesarean operation.

According to the cousin’s brother Bior Atem, after giving birth through a surgical operation, the sister never woke up.

She was then referred to a private health facility in Juba on Saturday where she was pronounced dead on Sunday.

Atem says the cousin’s sister was diagnosed with high blood pressure when she died.

“She was admitted at the Giada hospital for delivery, so on Wednesday last week she had an operation, and she delivered three twins (triplets ),

“Nirankari had high blood pressure, so when she went through the operation, the doctor tried to work on her  but it became difficult,

“So she remained in comma from Wednesday till Sunday and was taken to a private hospital where she passed on.”

Mr. Atem says the babies are doing well under the care of their grandmother, but express worries due to the lack of breast milk.

“The children are ok,  as far as now they are healthy, when they were delivered they didn’t have any complications,

“Only worrying now, they are not getting any immunity because breastfeeding is what provides immunity, so we don’t what will come up in the next few days but as far now we are managing them,” he said.
