The government of Unity State says 14 people were killed and 23 others sustained injuries in an attack that occurred on Tuesday night in northern Rubkona County.
According to the state Ministry of Information, the incident happened at a cattle camp in Budang Payam, Rubkona County.
Among those killed were six children, six men, one woman, and one girl.
The injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at Unity Oil Field facilities. In addition, about 200 heads of cattle were raided during the attack.
The government of Unity State said it holds the Ruweng Administrative Area responsible for the incident and has urged its authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
The government of the Ruweng Administrative Area is yet to respond to the allegations.
