Kiir goes to Addis Ababa

President Salva Kiir has left for Addis Ababa to attend the Extraordinary Summit of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) due to take place this afternoon.

South Sudan Ambassador to Ethiopia, James Pitia Morgan, told Eye Radio in Addis Ababa that the meeting will deliberate on the situation in South Sudan and Somalia.

IGAD Executive Secretary Ambassador Mahboub Maalim Thursday held separate consultations in relations to the meeting with representatives of the Troika and other international partners that have been supporting the South Sudan peace process.

All leaders of IGAD countries are expected to attend the Summit.
