Late Shiham Seid

Renowned Yambio businesswoman Siham Said al Tayeb died on Friday following a motorbike accident, according to sources in the state.

Witnesses say Siham died at around 4 PM from the grisly accident.

The victim reportedly fell and sustained serious injuries while riding a motorbike from Yambio Airstrip to her home in Masiah town.

Siham was rushed to a local hospital where she suddenly passed away.

Footage shared on social media show thousands of people lining up the streets of Yambio as the ambulance carrying the casket drives by.

Meanwhile, the state Chamber of Commerce has announced that all shops in the markets must remain closed for Saturday in respect to the businesswoman being laid to rest.

“Dear fellow brothers, sisters & business colleagues tomorrow the 19th of August 2023 you are requested to keep your shops closed as we shall all be at funeral of our late beloved sister and colleague in business Ms. Siam Seid,” the circular reads.

“It is our responsibility as traders to mourn, contribute and oversee all the activities of her funeral.”

Siham was among the over 35,000 students who sat for the 2022-2023 Certificate of Secondary Education examination across the country.

At the age of 13, she had ventured in business as a tea seller before opening her own tea place in Yambio town. She then upgraded the business to a restaurant.

With time, Siham saw her restaurant business growing with more customers and supplied food to workshops and events organized by local organizations.

Several years later, Siam pioneered Siambera Trading Company – which currently supplies food stuff and all sorts of goods to different organizations and government offices in Western Equatoria State.

She died at the age of 37 and survived by four children.
