Vice President James Wani Igga has urged the Council of States to create more counties for service delivery to the people of South Sudan.

“Indeed some states I have visited deserve more counties as in the case of the Central Equatoria State, counties that you have recently approved. We will have to be careful of course as we create the counties because we also have the problems of too many of them creating economic burden” Wani Igga said.

Vice President Igga said the newly approved counties for Central Equatoria State are waiting final approval from the office of the President.

Igga appealed to the Council of States to conduct studies to understand the needs of the people however he said this should be done against the background of the creation of more counties in the various states in accordance with the law with the help of the Local Government Act.

He said these units of the government will enable benefit from the services rendered by the government .
