TZ’s ruling party offers to reunite SPLM members

The SPLM says the ruling party in Tanzania has offered to mediate a re-union with the former political detainees and the SPLM in Opposition.

The Acting Secretary of the SPLM, Ann Itto, says the exercise will involve sharing of experiences on conflicts to enable South Sudan learn from them.

She says the South Africa’s African National Congress was the first to try to reunite the various SPLM groups

“This time around, the CCM, the ruling party in Tanzania offered to bring together the SPLM leadership in a forum where they can share experiences of other movement who have gone through similar experience; similar conflicts…and see how best through lessons learnt, the leaders of SPLM can narrow down there differences and come up with a way forward that will unify the ranks and files of the SPLM leaders.” She said.

Ms Itto was speaking at the opening of a training workshop for SPLM members at the SPLM House.

She says the 20 party members will attend a ten-day training on party management in China by the rulling China’s communist party.
