At least three people were killed on Tuesday  night in the eastern part of Wau town, Western Bahr el Ghazal State, according to the police.

Western Bahr el Ghazal Acting Police Commissioner told local reporters the incident at the Eastern Bank suburb was reported to him around mid-night.

Major General James Simon Yesi identified those murdered as Agieu Mading Ring, Mading Mading Ring and Chan Ameth Mawien.

“The incident was reported to me at around midnight that there was an incident in the Eastern Bank and in the incident, three young men were killed, the first is called Agieu Mading Ring, the second is called Mading Mading Ring and the third is called Chan Ameth Mawien.

“Shortly after getting the information, we immediately dispatched police and joint organized forces to search all areas, and if there was anything detected, it would appear during the investigation,” he said.

The motive behind the killing is unclear but General Simon says criminals are responsible for taking for the act.

“There was no confrontation between the civilians or army but there were criminals responsible for killing of these youths.”

This is the second tragedy within a week following the recent attack on Monday in Tharkueng Payam of Jur River County which claimed the lives of more than 20 people.

General Simon says crime is not connected to Monday’s attack in Tharkueng area, adding that it as an isolated crime.

” We are waiting for the police investigation to know the reason behind this crime. I cannot tell you that this crime is connected to the Tharkueng incident, no.”

However, he said an ongoing police investigation will establish the motive behind the killing.
