The Sudanese government has announced partial scholarship opportunities to South Sudanese students.

A circular from the Office of the Cultural and Educational Attaché at the South Sudan Embassy in Khartoum, says eligible students can can apply starting from Monday, January 2nd to January 17th, 2023.

But it is not clear how many slots are available in the scholarships granted by the Sudan.

Applicants should be South Sudanese nationals, have a copy of a valid passport or national identity card.

They should also have full knowledge of the Arabic language.

Other requirements are a copy of the Sudanese certificate of secondary school for 2022, or a secondary certificate of South Sudan 2021, authenticated by the ministry of general education in Sudan.

However, the circular indicates that accommodation and feeding are not included in the scholarship.

This means the Sudanese government will only cater for tuition fees.

The fee for the application form is 6,000 Sudanese pounds – to be paid at the South Sudanese embassy in Khartoum.

So far, Sudan has offered hundreds of scholarships to South Sudanese students studying bachelor degrees and diploma programs.

Most of the scholarships offered are for science courses.
