The SPLA and the SPLM/A-IO have accused each other of failing to respect ceasefire.

Yesterday, government and the opposition forces clashed in Dolep Hill and Ashab Al Nil in Upper Nile State. No casualties were reported.

SPLA spokesperson Colonel Philip Aguer told Eye Radio’s Sundown program that the position of the government’s forces came under attack by the SPLA In opposition force.

“SPLA is definitely fighting in self-defense and until the command of the army decides what to do about this repeated violation,” said Col Aguer.

“And this violation has been continuing and we have informed the IGAD monitors on the continued violation of the ceasefire by forces of Riak Machar.”

The spokesperson of the SPLA-in opposition forces, Brigadier General Lul Ruach Koang also accused the government forces of violating the ceasefire.

He added that they have also informed the IGAD monitors of continued violation.
