South Sudanese comedian and musician Alex Taban, known professionally as Longonyo, has graduated from Los Angeles City College in California after completing studies in Film and Television Production.
Longonyo announced the milestone on his social media platforms, stating that the achievement marks an important point in his academic and professional journey.
The entertainer built a following in South Sudan through comedy and music before relocating to the United States for studies. He stated that this graduation marks the completion of the first phase of his career development.
In a statement accompanied by a video from the graduation ceremony, Longonyo wrote that he completed the Film and Television Production program at the institution in East Hollywood, California, and expressed gratitude for the journey, the growth, and the opportunities ahead.
The graduation occurs as more South Sudanese artists seek training in film, media, and creative arts to contribute to the growth of the entertainment industry in South Sudan.
Longonyo remains recognized among South Sudanese audiences for his comedy performances and music productions.
