Pastoralists vaccate Mundri West

Authorities in Mundri West County in Western Equatoria State say most of the pastoralists have left the county.

A peace conference resolved last month that the pastoralists should leave Greater Mundri within three weeks.

Farmers in the area complained that cattle were destroying their crops.

The acting County Commissioner, John Cleupas told Eye Radio that they identified safe corridors for pastoralists to return home.

He says that some of the pastoralists are still in the area.

He said: “We suppose not to have any pastoralist or cows except the cattle of the host communities; the rest should have left to their respected counties and in their states. But up to now there are a number of cows still around, and we identified areas for them as corridors.”

Cleupas said leaders of the counties that still host pastoralists will hold a meeting with the state minister of local government in Maridi County tomorrow.
