The Minister of Physical Infrastructure in Central Equatoria, Emmanuel Khamis, has resigned, just weeks after appointment.

Caretaker Governor Juma Ali appointed Mr Khamis to the position in September, along with other ministers.

Mr. Emmanuel said unknown people threatened him via text messages to leave the position.

He said that a group of people he declined to name has also accused him of misusing public property.

“I’ve taken a bold decision and I took it in good faith, in the interest of our unity as a state, in the interest of our unity as leaders, and in the interest of unity of our people,” he told Eye Radio.

Mr. Khamis urged the caretaker governor to appoint a replacement and maintain harmony among the leaders of the state.
