Nationals should fill posts left vacant by foreigners who’ve fled the violence – Official

An official in Yei River County says Non-governmental organizations and international companies should recruit South Sudanese to fill positions left vacant by foreign nationals who have fled abroad since the beginning of the crisis.

The inspector of information in Yei River County, Ephraim Jomo Michael, said many foreign nationals fled the country during fighting between government forces and forces loyal to Dr. Riek Machar.

Mr. Jomo called on N-G-Os to make these jobs available to South Sudanese to make sure service delivery can continue.

“Most of the people holding managerial positions in the NGOs and the private sector have left the country,” he said.

“This has had a negative impact on service delivery nationwide.”

Mr. Jomo said there are qualified South Sudanese looking jobs after being displaced by the crisis.
