The National Ministry of Health says it will conduct free surgeries for 500 people with eye infections in Pibor.

The Director of Eye Services, Dr. Ali Ngor says the campaign will start next week on Monday and will continue for one month.

“…we are targeting five hundred for this duration of one month. There are a lot of diseases related to eye. We have Trachoma, we have cataract, and we have Onchocerciasis and more.” He said.

Dr Ali says such operations were not done in the area in the past due to lack of resources and equipment.
